This is actually the second blog that I have set up but I am determined to post regularly because I just love makeup!
So about a month ago, I decided to treat myself to a Sephora order (yes I am from the UK and yes it did really hurt my bank account) and within this order I decided to pick up this little bargain. The give me some lip set retails for $25 with a $59 value and contains deluxe samples and one full-size product of some bestselling lip products from several well known brands.
The kit contains: 3ml/0.1 fl oz of Make Up For Ever's Plexi Gloss in the shade 202, 1g/0.03 oz of Marc Jacobs' Le Marc Lip Crème in Je'taime, 3ml/ 0.1 fl oz of Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Lolita, 2ml/0.068 fl oz of Sephora's Rouge Infusion The Neutrals in shade number 19 - Peony, 3.1g/0.1 oz of Tarte's Amazonian Butter Lipstick in the shade Coral Blossom and finally 2.2g/0.08 oz of Fresh's Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment.
Make Up For Ever's Plexi Gloss: I must admit this product didn't excite me much, I do like the colour as I think the hint of coral suits my skin tone and also the shine is beautiful and really makes lips appear fuller and bigger. However this is not the lip gloss I would choose on a windy day as I do find it to be quite sticky, it's a shame really as it would be the perfect nude lip gloss otherwise.
Marc Jacobs' Le Marc Lip Crème: This formula is to die for. I am not a huge fan of the colour but I will wear it because it's just so creamy and pigmented, honestly I would actually be happy to invest in one of these in the full size because they are wonderful. I would recommend these to anyone because they are moisturising, long-lasting and once they wear off they leave behind an stain. What more could you want??
Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick: This product was what I was most eager to try and it does not disappoint, I do really love the colour, it's different for me but I just love wearing it, it's a really unique mauvey, grey shade. The formula is so long wearing it is ridiculous, they apply very smoothly and not patchy, they also dry down to a matte finish very quickly which I love. I want more!
Sephora's Rouge Infusion: This product is interesting. I hate the packaging but the product itself is a tinted oil which I actually really like, it is basically a hydrating lip stain which I actually really like. the colour is very wearable and I can see this being an essential during the winter months.
Tarte's Amazonian Butter Lipstick: Again with this one, I hate the packaging, it looks cheap and it's not very protective. At first sight I was worried about the shade of this lipstick however because it is a lip butter it is actually quite sheer and once on the lips I actually really like how this colour looks on me. The formula is very smooth and balmy and I think the hint of coral makes this a good product for the summer.
Fresh's Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment: This one I love the packaging of, it has a screw top lid which prevents it falling off in your bag, it looks like an expensive product. I haven't really used this lip balm that much but when I have my lips feel very soft after wearing it. I think if I was to buy the full size, I wouldn't get the tinted one as because it is a treatment I find myself putting it on before bed where the tint is pointless and unnecessary but all in all a really lovely product!
On the whole, I think this kit is really worth the $25, you are able to try out some really nice products at a really nice price. It is a nice range of types of lip products however the colours I feel could have been chosen better, as you can see from the lip swatches the last three are fairly similar, they are different and you can tell them apart, I would have just preferred a more varied selection of shades e.g. berry colours and reds. So unfortunately if coral isn't your thing, this might not be the kit for you.
Thank you for reading, have a good day and feel free to leave a comment.
